PERSONAL PARADISE

Lonnie Todd

This golf course home, on the 6th hole of Hamilton Mill Golf and Country Club, was built just one year ago. The house is booming with beautiful features! Each room of this house says "Welcome" to its guests, beginning with the rocking chairs on the front porch. You enter through magnificent double doors, an architectural masterpiece, to the two-story foyer, resplendent with faux finishes and lighting that are both eye-catching.

The area rugs are all hand-knotted works of art. You look to your left to find a masculine office, with lots of leather and dark wood, all part of an old world theme that includes original oil paintings and a domed ceiling with a custom-painted old world map.

The dining room to the right of the entry is grand and warm, a perfect spot for entertaining. Enter a large gourmet cook's kitchen with a lovely keeping room that boasts a stacked stone fireplace, flanked by built-in bookcases and cabinets.

The adjacent family room, with custom painted coffered ceilings, invites you to put your feet up and kick back in front of a large-screen television over yet another stacked stone fireplace.

From the keeping room, you enter a rather large screened porch that offers an area for outdoor entertaining at its best, complete with comfortable seating, dining, two flat-screen televisions and built-in sound system.

Walk out on the deck for a spectacular view of the 6th fairway, and pull one of several tall barstools up to the custom, solid mahogany built-in table/ledge that faces the golf course.

Back inside, from the family room, guests will enjoy one of the four guest rooms in this house. The downstairs guest room offers mouthwatering fabrics. A surprise awaits you in the hall guest bath with a tapestry done in oil, and the shower curtain definitely has a "wow factor."

Meander on upstairs to a gigantic master bedroom, with yet another large-screen television and two wonderful custom closets. Just off the sitting area, you will find a custom-built morning kitchen, complete with mini refrigerator and coffee station.

The remainder of the upstairs includes a guest retreat, surrounded by three guest suites. The guest retreat provides a lovely spot for early morning coffee and newspaper or late night TV and nightcap. Each guest room has its own decorating style - from traditional to a contemporary edge.

Everywhere your eye roams in this house, you will be greeted with original works of art and decorating genius by Tracey Hill of Interior Redesigns & Finds.
