Service Program
promotes education within the community.
Scholarships are provided for several girls at the
local high school. We also provide very active
support of our local libraries, especially through
the children's Summer Reading Program.
The Education Department also has the
following
committees: Book Club Committee, ESO Committee, and the Ramblin' Rec's Committee:
Book Club Committee :
The book club meets at 10:00am on the third Wednesday of each month
either in a BLWC member's home or at a local book store. We discuss the book
of the month. We enjoy our discussions and we get to know each other
better in smaller groups.
Epsilon Sigma Omicron (ESO) Committee:

Epsilon Sigma Omicron (ESO), established in 1928, is an honorary
educational society open to all paying GFWC federated club members.
Clubwomen are given direction in planned reading for self-enrichment and
personal growth. Reading is the main responsibility of an ESO member.
Once a book is read, the member is required to complete a short report
expressing their opinion of that book.
There are several levels of membership in ESO. One begins as an ESO
Pledge and works her way up to ESO Century Award member. As members
move up in ESO levels, they are eligible for a variety of pins and
certificates.
Ramblin' Rec's Committee:
The fourth Wednesday of the month, Ramblin’ Rec's visit a site of
interest. The goal is to educate members about their surroundings and
have a good time.
